Jake & Charlotte: Wet Dog

Kylee has been helping me watch Jake and Charlotte this past week. I am not quite sure who is watching who though: Kylee watching Jake & Charlotte or Jake & Charlotte watching Kylee. Probably them babysitting Kylee.

Charlotte has already had to be the clean up service Saturday morning when a food explosion occurred during our morning walk. Kylee was eating a fruit pouch and squeezed too hard causing an eruption of food goo like a volcano. Have no fear! Charlotte was there to save the day! Kylee had to withstand the wrath of Charlotte's tongue to clean up the mess since we had no napkins in sight. (I was amazed that the other food hound, Jake, tried to take no part in this free food bonanza.)
In the afternoons these two kept a watch on where exactly Kylee was during our walks or while she was in the house. They are like two Kylee beacons, it's great. They have even been willing to kiss their stuffed duck every time Kylee has made it pucker up to them. That is definitely called good sportsmanship. (One night Jake kept trying to chase his tail, but somehow it just kept giving the slip on him. He had a few close grabs there though.)
During the Kylee-free evenings Charlotte has shown another side of her that I have not seen too often. Who knew she could hold her own so well against Jake in a wrestling match? Little alone, that she would be the one to initiate it and keep it going. I don't know if it's pent up energy or what, but she has enjoyed rough housing with Jake for awhile during the night. It has been hilarious to watch this side of her come out.

Sunday's rain did not keep us inside all day. Oh no, we all made the great adventure down to Shirlington to check out the dog park. Not too many dogs were out and about. We only saw three other dogs: 2 labs and a blue healer mix. Jake and Charlotte showed off how die hard they were and that a little (well, actually a lot) of rain and mud was not going to stop them from having a nice afternoon. They even did it in style wearing their matching raincoats. You should have seen how many comments were made by anyone that spotted them during our walk through Shirlington. Their starting a new craze.
