Murphy likes to check out the rain gutters on our walks if we come across one. He approaches each one with care and curiosity, as if he has never seen one before. He tries to position himself at different angles so he can get the optimum view of what is down there.
He loves to push anything he can find down the gutters with his nose: rocks, leaves, acorns, etc. He will then wait, cock his head, and see if he can hear the object hit bottom. Afterward, he will stick his head over the edge to see if his object is going to come back out. So far, nothing has returned. However, I would love to see the expression on his face if the day comes that something actually does come back out. He might be hightailing it the other direction as fast as he can.
